Do You Have an Attitude of Gratitude?

Those of you that practice Qigong with me everyday know that expressing gratitude and thankfulness protects our kidney energy. Because our bodies are composed of at least 70% water, our kidney systems are considered the source of our vitality. In order to protect and strengthen this vitality, it is a good practice to express gratitude and thankfulness everyday. In our fast-paced society, it is far too easy to take things for granted; the clean water that we have access to drink, the abundance of food that we can choose from to eat, the resources available to us to accomplish anything that we set our minds to do, etc. Some of the signs that indicate that your kidney system is in need of attention are allergies, auto-immune diseases, dizziness, dry eyes, hair or skin, fatigue, feeling cold, lack of mental focus, pain in the lower part of the body (feet, ankles, knees, hips, lower back), water retention that presents as swelling in the feet or ankles, and overall energy imbalance. The more you practice your Qigong exercises, the easier it will be for you to pick up on the subtle energy imbalances within your system, allowing you to address them as soon as possible. A very easy way to nurture your vitality is to take a very deep breath in while focusing on a statement of gratitude. "I am so grateful for...". Feel every cell in your body filling with gratitude. On the exhale, focus on a statement of thankfulness. "I am so thankful for...". You can do this once or you can do this as many times as you wish. In an incredibly short amount of time, you will feel your heart space open, filling your body with thankfulness and your mind with the attitude of gratitude. I am so grateful for my Qigong community. I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach others about the benefits of Qigong.

Have a beautiful day everyone!
